Bye Bye Cold

Braylea has had a pretty good and progressive cold for the past 3 weeks and we were ALL tired of it..it just lingered on and would not go away! When it all started she had the fever with it and the nasty runny nose..she fought off the fever in a few days but the runny nose with a cough would not go away. Finally after a night of coughing all night long, I decided to take her back to the doctor to just make sure nothing else was wrong. She acted fine but you could tell the cough was so deep that it was uncomfortable. We have been going to Dr. McFarland in Chanute since birth and I was pleased with her but didn't like having to drive 45 mins one way for a visit. Parsons just got a new pediatrician and I know of her family, so I thought I would try her out. I was very happy with her! She was great with Braylea and checked her over throughly. I'm glad I did take her because she did have an ear infection so we are on antibiotics. I hate giving her medicine but was, in a way, happy because only after 2 days of it, her nose is clear and barely coughing. She slept all night without a peep!! Yay!

Other than that, nothing new has really happened. I don't expect it to be long before Miss B is walking..she is up on her feet same if not more than her knees. In the past 2 weeks, she has figured out how to walk along the coffee table and couch..she thinks she is pretty cool stuff!

9 Month Pics

This round of pictures we went with a new photographer and were just as pleased with them. She had a different style of photography and was neat to see a change. It was really fun since she got to take most pictures at our home and then some in town..Braylea seemed more comfortable in her own surroundings. She had lots of neat ideas and Braylea cooperated for most of the pictures..there are several that she gave the 'Braylea stare' but they are still cute. She took tons of pictures so I'm nervous on how I'm going to be able to choose since they all are so good! Thanks Kelli!!

Labor Day Weekend = No Labor!!

This has been an absolute L-A-Z-Y weekend..we haven't done much of anything but hang out at home or with the family. I did go out Saturday night with some friends while Bryson and Bray stayed home..it was a nice getaway that I think needs to happen more! :)
Anyways..nothing new has happened so here are some weekend pics to show!

This is a pretty new thing..that tongue is out of her mouth about 85% of the time. When she is hurt or concentrating it curls..so funny except we took her 9 month pics this week and it was difficult trying to get a picture with that tongue not hanging out!

This is how she gets her toys from point A to B..shoves it in her mouth and crawls to her destination..she is a nut!

I took Friday and Tuesday off to make a real long weekend and it is definitely going to be hard to go back and send B to daycare..we have had way too much fun being home!

My Buddy

I was born in October and on my very first Christmas, I received this doll called 'My Buddy'. Yes, everyone thinks he looks like the scary 'Chucky' doll but I loved him. He was my friend until I went to school and couldn't take him with me. I remember crying when my mom had to wash him in the washing machine because I just knew that it hurt him! Anyways..Braylea finds him pretty intriquing. She likes to give him wet kisses on the mouth..so funny! He looks a little rough but he is very old and went EVERYWHERE with me!!

Braylea is really hard to make giggle but something about My Buddy makes her giggle when I tease her with him..

An update on the cold - we are still fighting it. It isn't near as bad but still coughing some and nose running. This leads to no sleep for Braylea, Mom and Dad. I'm ready to be able to sleep all night again..she had me spoiled for awhile! We finished up on the eye drops tonight and they seem to be completely clear..yay!

Express Care Visit

Well..we thought Braylea was getting better. She had a fever from Sunday to Wednesday night and it finally broke. I thought the battle was about over. She woke up this morning and she was fine..I noticed her cough was pretty ripe but her snot was clear and not excessive. I decided to take her to daycare. (Well, she really didn't have a choice unless I stayed home from work...Bryson came home from work last night with a fever and not well..this week has been great!)
Daycare called around 4ish and she said that Braylea woke up from her nap with her eyes matted shut and wheezing..not good. Her eyes have been the worst battle this whole week..they were constantly watering and getting gunk in them..I felt so bad but thought it was over!! I called her doctor and they recommended either waiting until tomorrow to bring her in or take her to Express Care to check her out. I didn't want to go all night so we had our first visit to the hospital. The PA just walked in the door and said right off the bat that Braylea had an eye infection in both eyes. She checked her lungs and she said she could hear a little wheezing but nothing to be worried about. They swabbed her for RSV just to rule it out and it came back negative, thank God. So, we left with some eye drops. I sure hope they kick in quick..she looks pitiful! I feel so bad!! This part of parenting is not fun at all! I hope winter treats us nicely since it is still summer and we are fighting colds and infections!

Nine Months Old..where does the time go??

This should be a happy day but we aren't such a happy baby..we are sick. I think daycare introduced some new germs that we haven't built immunity for yet. I took her to the doctor today because she is running a fever and her snot is very green. The doctor just called it a mild upper respiratory infection..but I call it severe! I hate seeing my baby girl like this. She can't breathe..she barely has a voice..her eyes water constantly or get gunk in them..and she just moans and moans. I want my baby back!

On the upside..we went ahead and had her well-being checkup. She is doing great! She weighs 18.4lbs and is 29.25in long and is developing very well! A few things Braylea does now is:

-crawling all over the place
-pulling up to anything and everything (getting into everything she shouldn't!)
-can wave bye-bye
-says momma and dadda (I wish but doubtly she knows what she is saying)
-she loves music and sways back and forth to the music..gets the dancing skills from her momma
-just the past few weeks is very attached to me..she used to go to anyone and be fine but not anymore!

Mommy time

Braylea and I did absolutely nothing Friday night except hang out at home and play. It was nice to have nothing to do. So..I got camera happy!
